DezignWorks is a feature-based reverse engineering software that is integrated inside of SOLIDWORKS. DezignWorks enhances the capabilities of SOLIDWORKS with the addition of curve editing and measurement tools. DezignWorks has proven compatibility with most common CMM arm devices such as Romer, Faro, Nikon and MicroScribe.
DezignWorks automatically creates 2D and 3D features, incorporating its own cut and extrude command. Simply digitize the shape or your part and select the designated height or depth and a cut or extrude is completed. Complex 3D shapes are DezignWorks forte, it captures the continuous movement of the probing/laser device and allows for interactive editing of complex curves. DezignWorks ensures that all geometric elements are parametric, fully editable, and conforming to the feature-based intelligence of SOLIDWORKS.
Reverse Engineering is the practice of measuring and recreating the geometry of a physical object. This collected geometry can be used for creating copies of the originals, as a basis for the development of alternate configurations of the object, or to develop new objects that interface with the reverse engineered object. DezignWorks is the Standard in Reverse Engineering.
